Welcome to the Associate of Arts Degree Digital Media (Broadcast and Electronic Media)

The Broadcast and Electronic Media degree prepares students for entry-level work as a media producer. This degree focuses on producing audio and video, along with media studies courses. Hands-on courses provide training in writing for media, camera operation, audio recording, video editing and media performance. he electronic media programs provide students with hands-on learning opportunities, utilizing current technology in the fields of broadcasting and multimedia production. You will develop an understanding of the specialized visual literacy, aesthetic components and creation process of broadcast and multimedia productions. You will gain the ability to – both independently and as part of a team – produce audio, video and multimedia productions, from visualization, planning, pre-production and production stages to the final product. The world of digital media is constantly evolving, and our innovative associate’s degree program will keep you at the forefront of the latest and emerging trends in the field. Prepare to transition directly into your vocational calling or pursue a four-year communications degree upon program completion

Students can explore a variety of possible career choices, such as TV and video producing, directing, lighting, camera operation, video editing, scriptwriting, on-air talent, audio recording and mixing, and radio programming.

English Language Requirement

College of San Mateo will accept, for the purposes of meeting the English proficiency requirement, English taken in 12 year education or English is designated as the primary and official language, and the principle language of instruction.

If you do not meet the English language requirements yet, you can achieve the level you need by successfully completing a pre-sessional English programme with the university or submit
