The International Baccalaureate (IB) offers a continuum of international education through four challenging, high quality educational programmes to students aged 14 to 19. Our programme encourage both personal development and academic achievement challenging students to think critically, to ask the right questions and think across disciplines. An IB education also fosters diversity, curiosity and a healthy appetite for learning. Students who graduate with the IB program are eligible to apply to many universities around the world as it has universal recognition.
This rigorous and academically demanding program is designed for highly motivated university bound students. Students must take two languages, a social science, an experimental science, a math and an art or option (please see hexagon diagram on the following page). In addition, students must engage in Theory of Knowledge, complete a CAS (creativity, activity and service) portfolio and an extended essay. Upon successful completion of this program, students receive a diploma, which is recognized by many Canadian and international universities.

St. Paul Catholic Secondary School accept, for the purposes of meeting the English proficiency requirement, evidence of English study within a 12 year education system where English is designated as the primary and official language and the principal language of instruction. For applicants who do not yet meet the English language requirement, there are two pathways to achieve the necessary level:
Pre sessional English Programme; Students may successfully complete a preparatory English programme offered by the university before beginning their academic course. Recognized English Proficiency Tests; Students may submit one of the following minimum scores prior to the start of their program: IELTS: 6.5 overall band score (or equivalent), TOEFL or PTE: Score of 60, Duolingo English Test: Score of 120.
