Welcome to the BSc. Hospitality Management

A hospitality management degree can prepare you for a rewarding career in hotels, resorts, event planning, wineries, travel agencies, and convention and visitor bureaus. As a hospitality management major at Southeast, you’ll gain incredible real world learning experience including many opportunities outside the classroom. Interact with faculty with experience in various areas of hospitality management, including lodging management, culinary arts, catering and event planning. Receive personal curriculum advisement from the hospitality management faculty. Students will be better equipped to work in hotels as well as in various service organizations such as resorts, restaurants, airlines, cruise ships, hospitals, conventions and conference facilities and banqueting, or venture into business start-up of events management and outside catering and lodging houses.The students acquire not only technical and management skills but also the necessary soft skills such as spirit of service, social etiquette, personal responsibility, commitment and teamwork.

Career Path

Hospitality Management graduates can work anywhere in the world! Professional management-level careers in hotel and restaurant management, resorts, cruise lines and event planning are plentiful. Examples of job titles include conference coordinator, event planner, food and beverage director, general manager, marketing/promotions coordinator and purchasing manager.

English Language Requirement

Southeast Missouri State University will accept, for the purposes of meeting the English proficiency requirement, English taken in 12 year education or English is designated as the primary and official language, and the principle language of instruction.

If you do not meet the English language requirements yet, you can achieve the level you need by successfully completing a pre-sessional English programme with the university or submit  

1. English language proficiency at a minimum of IELTS band 6.5 (or equivalent) or PTE Score or Duolingo English Test score before you start your course.
