The Commercial and Residential Painting program at CDC Pont Viau, offered in partnership with Construc Plus Vocational Centre in Saint Eustache, Québec, is a vocational training program of about 11 months (900 hours) that prepares students for careers in painting and finishing across residential, commercial, and institutional projects. Taught in English within a bilingual environment, the program provides hands on training in surface preparation, paint application, wallpapering, decorative finishes, and the use of specialized tools and equipment. Students also learn safety practices, color theory, and how to interpret construction plans, earning a Diploma of Vocational Studies (DVS) recognized by Québec’s Ministry of Education. The program also opens opportunities in renovation projects, property management, and self employment as painting contractors. CDC Pont Viau, Canada will accept, for the purposes of meeting the English proficiency requirement, evidence of English study within a 12 year education system where English is designated as the primary and official language and the principal language of instruction. For applicants who do not yet meet the English language requirement, there are two pathways to achieve the necessary level:
Pre sessional English Programme; Students may successfully complete a preparatory English programme offered by the university before beginning their academic course. Recognized English Proficiency Tests; Students may submit one of the following minimum scores prior to the start of their program: IELTS: 6.5 overall band score (or equivalent), TOEFL or PTE: Score of 60, Duolingo English Test: Score of 120.
