The BS Ed. in Chemistry Education
prepares highly qualified teachers of chemistry. You’ll be certified
to teach high school chemistry once all degree requirements and assessments are
passed. At Southeast, our education students have an exceptional

theory, and pedagogy courses. Develop a strong knowledge of chemistry. Learn
up-to-date techniques for teaching in the sciences. Have substantial and
increasingly challenging teaching experiences in schools. Know how to
differentiate instruction to help all students succeed. Be prepared to
integrate technology in teaching. The overall aim of the course is to allow you
to develop the knowledge and skills required to teach Chemistry at Secondary
School level. You will study Chemistry to Honours level, and will also develop
your teaching skills. Students will be given the chance to gain core knowledge
in the fundamentals of chemistry in the first year, dealing with topics such as
an synthetic methodologies and molecular characterisation; laboratory
techniques; molecular structure, bonding and mechanism; and electronic
structure, spectroscopy, and reactivity in p-block compounds.

As a Chemistry graduate you will
