With training that will prepare you for work in orthodontics, pedodontics, periodontics, prosthodontics, oral surgery, and general dentistry, our program will quickly prepare you for an in-demand career. You'll do hands-on lab and clinical experiences to prepare you for state and national board exams. Your coursework will be a combination of online, classroom, and clinical laboratory learning, and includes basic health sciences, oral anatomy and pathology, dental materials, radiographic and chairside assisting techniques; as well as principles of office records management and marketing, laboratory procedures, and psychological considerations in patient treatment. What You'll Learn; Accurately expose, develop and mount diagnostic radiographs using multiple systems. Maintain patient records, discharge patients, bill patients and their insurers. Systematically collect diagnostic data. Apply fluoride, sealants and polish teeth. Student Qualify for the following credentials: Certified Dental Assistant, National Credential, Expanded Function Dental Assistant, Oregon Credential, Expanded Function Orthodontic Dental Assistant, Oregon Credential, Radiological Proficiency (Dental X-ray certification), Oregon Credential, Pit and Fissure Sealant Certification, Oregon Credential, Denture Soft Reline Certification –Oregon Credential, and Gingival Retraction Cord Certification – Oregon Credential. The program is fully accredited by the Commission on Dental Accreditation (CODA), and is recognized by the Dental Assisting National Board. After successful completion of the three-quarter program, students are eligible to take the National Board exams and receive all certificates and licenses in Oregon.

English Language Requirement

Lane Community College will accept, for the purposes of meeting the English proficiency requirement, English taken in 12-year education, or English is designated as the primary and official language and the principle language of instruction. If you do not meet the English language requirements yet, you can achieve the level you need by successfully completing a pre-sessional English programme with the university or submit 

1. English language proficiency at a minimum of IELTS band 6.5 (or equivalent) or PTE Score or Duolingo English Test score before you start your course.
