The Cyber Forensics Bachelor's Degree housed in the School of Disaster Science and Emergency Services allows students to attain knowledge of cyber and digital forensics, network forensics, ethical hacking, and develop applied skills to qualify for such positions as cyber analyst and law enforecement professionals. The faculty in cyber forensics are dedicated to providing an excellent learning experience for our students. Classes are taught by experienced full-time faculty and highly qualified professionals in digital forensics technology and cyber investigations. he cyber range is a virtual space for conducting exercises and competitions to improve emergency preparedness and cyber incident response capabilities. The activities planned at The University of Akron align with the mission of the OCRI, with collaborative and innovative programs, that advance Ohio's cybersecurity infrastructure to professionals, students, educators, government, and organizations. The University of Akron High Technology Forensics Laboratory and Resource Center delivers innovative digital forensic services and solutions for government, law enforcement, and the private sector facing today's challenges for professional cyber and digital forensic investigators. The purpose of The High Technology Forensic Laboratory and Resource Center is to provide the services of examining digital technology in the form of computers, digital media, and electronic mobile devices, while conducting research and program development to meet future technological demands and challenges. The methods, knowledge, and skills developed and implemented at The High Technology Forensic Laboratory and Resource Center, are then transferred to existing academic and training programs for Cyber Forensics and The University of Akron Regional Programming Center in the School of Disaster Science & Emergency Services.

English Language Requirement

The University of Akron will accept, for the purposes of meeting the English proficiency requirement, English taken in 12-year education, or English is designated as the primary and official language and the principle language of instruction. If you do not meet the English language requirements yet, you can achieve the level you need by successfully completing a pre-sessional English programme with the university or submit 

1. English language proficiency at a minimum of IELTS band 6.5 (or equivalent) or PTE Score or Duolingo English Test score before you start your course.
