Through a unique combination of classroom and farm-based learning, students at KPU will explore practical opportunities for land and food to strengthen community and ecosystem health. The program offers a comprehensive perspective on: The science of agro-ecosystem design and stewardship; Innovative and ecologically sound crop production methods. The curriculum offers both practical experience and academic training in sustainable agriculture. Course work fosters experiential learning and exploration of personal interests. The four-year Bachelor's degree program is designed to help students achieve eleven learning outcomes: Examine interrelationships between agriculture, food systems, environment, and human well-being., Recognize and engage with diverse perspectives and ways of knowing, including Indigenous perspectives., Characterize implications of historical and contemporary relationships between agricultural food systems and Indigenous peoples., Apply foundational knowledge of soil, plant, and animal sciences to agriculture and food systems., Identify how social, economic, and political structures influence food systems at different scales. Craft and share visions for a sustainable future for agriculture and food systems and analyze existing examples that advance the vision

Students can work part time for up to 20 hours per week and full time during academic breaks. After graduation, students from an eligible Designated Learning Institution may apply for work permit up to three years, depending on the length of study and program eligibility.

Kwantlen Polytechnic University accept, for the purposes of meeting the English proficiency requirement, evidence of English study within a 12 year education system where English is designated as the primary and official language and the principal language of instruction. For applicants who do not yet meet the English language requirement, there are two pathways to achieve the necessary level:
Pre sessional English Programme; Students may successfully complete a preparatory English programme offered by the university before beginning their academic course. Recognized English Proficiency Tests; Students may submit one of the following minimum scores prior to the start of their program: IELTS: 6.5 overall band score (or equivalent), TOEFL or PTE: Score of 60, Duolingo English Test: Score of 120.
