Are you looking to improve your skills and knowledge as a musician, make music with others, and/or prepare for a career in music? Lane’s dynamic Music program is designed for students who are planning be a music major at a four-year institution, students looking to grow as performers, and anyone trying to enrich their life with music. Our classes can help you progress in your AAOT or AS degree, but they can also prepare you for a career as a professional performer, recording artist, music teacher, music producer, sound engineer, music therapist and more. Work with one of our friendly advisors to find the best fit for your education and career goals. From beginning music classes to advanced, audition-only courses, you will find your place in our program with room to grow. Our program provides music majors with a solid foundation of core classes (music theory, sight-reading/ear training and keyboard skills), private lessons, and ensemble experiences to help them understand the responsibilities, personal integrity, and work ethic required to become well-rounded musicians, successfully transfer to four-year institutions, and succeed in the field. Looking to move out of state or go to a private school? Many students have transferred to their dream program at schools across the country. Lane’s music program will help prepare you for what’s next! Our AS degree lets you focus on music without the same amount gen ed requirements, so you won't exceed financial aid benefits.

English Language Requirement

Lane Community College will accept, for the purposes of meeting the English proficiency requirement, English taken in 12-year education, or English is designated as the primary and official language and the principle language of instruction. If you do not meet the English language requirements yet, you can achieve the level you need by successfully completing a pre-sessional English programme with the university or submit 

1. English language proficiency at a minimum of IELTS band 6.5 (or equivalent) or PTE Score or Duolingo English Test score before you start your course.
