Welcome to the Associate of Science Degree (Allied Health Science)

The Associate in Science degree in Allied Health Science is designed for students who plan to transfer to a four-year program or a community college allied-health. Students who plan to apply to a specific allied health occupation program must first complete a set of prerequisite courses. Students who complete the prerequisites for one of these programs will complete this major in the process. Prerequisites can vary slightly from one school to another or may change from one year to the next, so students should check with the targeted school for the current prerequisites needed. Careers in Allied Health professions are among the fastest growing occupations. Use aseptic technique in clinical and laboratory environments. Discuss and understand the role of microorganisms in healthy individuals and in infectious diseases. Demonstrate understanding of the structure of the human body. Demonstrate an understanding of the functions of the organ systems of the human body.

Career Path

Careers includes Respiratory Therapy, Dental Hygiene, Radiologic Technology, or Registered Nurse, medical coder, medical administrative assistant, in a medical office and with medical records, Sonographer, phlebotomist, medical assistant, health information technician.

English Language Requirement

Skyline College will accept, for the purposes of meeting the English proficiency requirement, English taken in 12 year education or English is designated as the primary and official language, and the principle language of instruction.

If you do not meet the English language requirements yet, you can achieve the level you need by successfully completing a pre-sessional English programme with the university or submit  

1. English language proficiency at a minimum of IELTS band 6.5 (or equivalent) or PTE Score or Duolingo English Test score before you start your course.
