Welcome to the Associate of Arts Degree (Psychology)

An Associate in Arts in Psychology for Transfer (AA-T) from Skyline College is intended for students who are interested in transferring to a California State University (CSU) campus with a major in Psychology, or similar major. This degree provides students with the lower division breadth and depth in the field of psychology. Upon completion of degree requirements, students will be able to explain human behavior using learning theories, understand that both nature and nurture are determinants of behavior, developed the attitude that behavioral changes are possible. Demonstrate familiarity with the major concepts, theoretical perspectives, empirical findings, and historical trends in psychology. Demonstrate the ability to think critically and creatively by employing skeptical inquiry and scientific reasoning. Understand and apply psychological principles to personal, political, spiritual, socioeconomic, social, and organizational issues.

Career Path

Psychology is a tremendously varied field. Psychologists can counsel, conduct research, assist business, industry and community, study social development, promote physical and psychological health through careers in private and public practice.

English Language Requirement

Skyline College will accept, for the purposes of meeting the English proficiency requirement, English taken in 12 year education or English is designated as the primary and official language, and the principle language of instruction.

If you do not meet the English language requirements yet, you can achieve the level you need by successfully completing a pre-sessional English programme with the university or submit  

1. English language proficiency at a minimum of IELTS band 6.5 (or equivalent) or PTE Score or Duolingo English Test score before you start your course.
