Welcome to the Ontario Secondary School Diploma
The Ontario Secondary School Diploma is required for students to attend a University in Canada. The Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) is a diploma granted to secondary school graduates in the Canadian province of Ontario. It is part of the publicly-funded province-wide school system.
The Ontario Secondary School Diploma is one of the highest distinctions for any secondary school students in the world. With its methodical ways of bringing advanced high school curriculums to students anywhere, it is an honor recognized by virtually every institution not only in Canada, but also the United States, United Kingdom, Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, Hong Kong, and many other nations and regions around the globe.
The following requirements must be successfully completed in order to obtain an Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD):
- Successful completion of 30 credits, including 18 compulsory and 12 optional*
- 40 hours of community involvement (CIH)
- Successful completion of EQAO’s Ontario Secondary School Literacy Test (OSSLT) or the Ontario Secondary School Literacy Course (OSSLC).
