The program prepares students for
addressing service-specific quality assurance issues, regulatory mandates for
quality and safety and the "lean innovation model" for increasing
both efficiencies in service delivery and satisfying patient expectations. The course
work emphasizes the patient experience, relationships between patients,
families and the providers of medical and behavioral services. This is
accomplished through a study of data collection and analysis, effectively
improving quality of care, patient satisfaction and regulatory compliance.
Student will be able to Reviews the history and theory of quality management in
health care settings with emphasis on patient safety, satisfaction and
engagement, the patient/client experience, and regulatory requirements. Examines
skills and knowledge necessary to manage and analyze biomedical data and review
statistics used for decision-making, population health assessment, and
inferential research analysis. Examines the practical and ethical dimensions of
patient care and organizational leadership in the context of patient safety and
risk management.
