An Associate in Science in Early
Childhood Education for Transfer (AS-T) from Skyline College is intended for
students who are interested in transferring to a California State University
(CSU) campus with a major in Early Childhood Education, or similar major. The
Skyline College Associate in Science degree with a major in (AS-T) Early
Childhood Education will expose students to the core principles and practices
in the field of Early Childhood Education. Our degree meets the needs of
students interested in transferring to a four-year college or university in the
major of Early Childhood Education as a means of integrating this knowledge
into their chosen profession. Students will learn about the development of
children from birth through age eight as well as how to provide a safe and
stimulating environment that respects each child's family and culture. Students
are highly encouraged to gain practical experience in a child development
program while pursuing this degree to apply theory and knowledge.
