The Bachelor
of Science in Middle Grades Education (Social Science with History Option) is a
specialized degree designed for individuals passionate about teaching history,
civics, geography, and economics to students in grades 4 through 9. This
program blends foundational coursework in education theory, adolescent
development, and classroom management with deep content knowledge in historical
and social sciences. Students explore topics such as U.S. history, world
civilizations, government systems, and cultural geography, while learning how
to design engaging, standards-based lessons that promote critical thinking and
civic awareness. The curriculum emphasizes inclusive teaching practices,
interdisciplinary learning, and the integration of technology to support
diverse learners. Through field experiences and student teaching placements,
candidates gain hands-on experience in real classrooms, developing the skills
