provides focused training in critical thinking, critical reading, writing,
reasoning, communication, and civic dialogue, all while developing an

statements, or an attempt to synthesize all experience and knowledge, or an
exploration of the meaning of life and how best to live it. Critical thinking
is developed while examining peoples' responses to fundamental questions. This
degree prepares students for transfer to the California State University, University
of California, and Independent Colleges and Universities system for further
study in philosophy. Analyze social science concepts and theories Evaluate
diverse viewpoints related to the human experience Produce evidence-based

aesthetics, religion, rationality) with clarity, balance, open-mindedness, and
rational rigor. Compare and contrast texts and philosophical traditions.
