The College's Automotive
Technology program is certified by the Automotive Service Excellence (ASE)
Education Foundation. Students completing the program will be prepared to take
all eight Automotive Service Exams (ASE) in the Automotive Technology Program
giving them the additional certification desired in the industry when they seek
employment. Dive into real-life diagnostic situations. Test and solve vehicle
malfunctions using the latest software. Perform routine service and
maintenance. Working alongside expert faculty, you’ll study brake systems,
electrical processes, engine performance and repair, suspension, steering, and
more. From fundamentals to advanced diagnostics, learn what it takes to keep
vehicles on the road and running smoothly. And when you’re done, you’ll have
the advanced skillset you need to land a high-demand career in automotive
technology. Use the proper automotive terminology to discuss systems operation,
methods of diagnosis and needed repairs. Prepare a written estimate of needed
system repairs and estimate the related costs. Practice safety in the repair
and service associated with electrical, hydraulic and mechanical systems.
Career Path
Employment as an entry level
Automotive Technician in any repair business that works on transportation
vehicles. New car dealers, independent repair business, State and city
government, Mass merchandiser, Airport transportation support vehicles, etc.
