Welcome to the Associate of Science Degree (Automotive Technology)

The College's Automotive Technology program is certified by the Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) Education Foundation. Students completing the program will be prepared to take all eight Automotive Service Exams (ASE) in the Automotive Technology Program giving them the additional certification desired in the industry when they seek employment. Dive into real-life diagnostic situations. Test and solve vehicle malfunctions using the latest software. Perform routine service and maintenance. Working alongside expert faculty, you’ll study brake systems, electrical processes, engine performance and repair, suspension, steering, and more. From fundamentals to advanced diagnostics, learn what it takes to keep vehicles on the road and running smoothly. And when you’re done, you’ll have the advanced skillset you need to land a high-demand career in automotive technology. Use the proper automotive terminology to discuss systems operation, methods of diagnosis and needed repairs. Prepare a written estimate of needed system repairs and estimate the related costs. Practice safety in the repair and service associated with electrical, hydraulic and mechanical systems.

Career Path

Employment as an entry level Automotive Technician in any repair business that works on transportation vehicles. New car dealers, independent repair business, State and city government, Mass merchandiser, Airport transportation support vehicles, etc.

English Language Requirement

Skyline College will accept, for the purposes of meeting the English proficiency requirement, English taken in 12 year education or English is designated as the primary and official language, and the principle language of instruction.

If you do not meet the English language requirements yet, you can achieve the level you need by successfully completing a pre-sessional English programme with the university or submit  

1. English language proficiency at a minimum of IELTS band 6.5 (or equivalent) or PTE Score or Duolingo English Test score before you start your course.
