Welcome to the Diploma – Maritime Transportation Management

The course exposes students to the newest updates on the complex environment in this field and gives a broad overview of the business challenges on maritime economics, freight, cost, safety and security, and on international policy on shipping and port businesses. The opportunities obtained by the students will include knowledge and deeper understanding of regional integration, international cooperation, and growing diversification of sources of supply, sources of market and the complexities of international trade.

The course focuses on the main activities carried out in the maritime transport and logistics sectors, concentrating on the management of ship and shipping activities, ports and marine management. The course will prepare students with the knowledge of interpersonal communication, multimedia technology, creative thinking, general management and management related to maritime and ports. The course also prepares the student with relevant competencies in the field of management, maritime operations, maritime law and transportation. Graduates can assume the position of executive or junior managers of maritime transport and logistics companies apart from assuming roles in the public sectors.

English Language Requirement

University of Kyrenia will accept, for the purposes of meeting the English proficiency requirement, English taken in 12 year education or English is designated as the primary and official language, and the principle language of instruction.
If you do not meet the English language requirements yet, you can achieve the level you need by successfully completing a pre-sessional English programme with the university or submit  

  • English language proficiency at a minimum of IELTS band 6.5 (or equivalent) or PTE Score or Duolingo English Test score before you start your course.
