Ready to become a K-12 educator in the state of Oregon? We'll help you on the road to teacher licensure. We offer a variety of courses which transfer directly to universities throughout Oregon, with an education rooted in equity and human development. With small classroom sizes and dedicated teachers, you'll learn the fundamentals of education and explore your own interests in classes like: Introduction to Education, Foundations of Education, Multicultural Education, and Adolescent Development. What you'll learn; Learn the foundations of education, Learn and apply concepts of development, Understand the variety of student needs in a classroom, and Engage in culturally responsive teaching techniques. We've aligned our courses to ease the transfer process for future teachers to continue their education at any university in Oregon. With a solid foundation, you'll be ready to tailor your career path to your strengths and passions. As a teacher, you’ll find opportunities to share your expertise and inspire future generations of students. As an educator, you may choose to specialize in a field of education or advance into administrative roles. Lane Communication College offers students practical, real-world experience through internships, industry partnerships, and hands-on learning opportunities. These experiences help bridge the gap between academic knowledge and practical skills, equipping graduates with the tools they need to succeed in their careers. The university also provides access to extensive resources, including cutting-edge technology, career counseling, and networking events with industry leaders. The A.A. in Education will train you in instructional technology, foundations of education, psychology of education and child and adolescent growth and development.

Graduate career path includes Preschool Teacher, Teacher’s Assistant (K–12), Paraprofessional Educator, Childcare Center Assistant, Early Childhood Program Aide, Special Education Classroom Assistant, Literacy Support Worker, After-School Program Facilitator, Head Start Program Assistant, Tutoring Center Assistant. Education Program Support Specialist, Parent Engagement Liaison (School-Based), School Office Assistant, Educational Outreach Assistant, Youth Program Coordinator (Community Centers), Library Aide (School or Public), Recreational Program Leader (Youth Focus), Museum Education Assistant, Education Technology Support Assistant, Instructional Materials Coordinator (Entry-Level).

English Language Requirement

Lane Community College will accept, for the purposes of meeting the English proficiency requirement, English taken in 12-year education, or English is designated as the primary and official language and the principle language of instruction. If you do not meet the English language requirements yet, you can achieve the level you need by successfully completing a pre-sessional English programme with the university or submit 

1. English language proficiency at a minimum of IELTS band 6.5 (or equivalent) or PTE Score or Duolingo English Test score before you start your course.
