Our
Bachelor of Arts in Visual Art Education PK–12 is a vibrant and
interdisciplinary degree designed for individuals passionate about nurturing
creativity and artistic expression in young learners. This program prepares
future educators to teach visual arts across all grade levels from preschool
through high school by combining studio art practice, art history, pedagogy,
and classroom management. Students gain hands on experience in a variety of
media, including drawing, painting, ceramics, photography, and digital design,
while also learning how to develop inclusive, engaging, and standards-based art
curricula. Beyond technical skills, the program emphasizes the role of art in
cultural understanding, emotional development, and critical thinking. Graduates
are equipped to foster artistic literacy and self-expression in diverse
classroom settings, encouraging students to explore identity, community, and
global perspectives through visual storytelling. Whether teaching in public
schools, leading community art programs, or pursuing graduate studies in art
education or therapy.
