Welcome to the Associate of Science Degree (Law Enforcement Technology)

The Law Enforcement Technology program focuses on the emerging trends and uses of technology in law enforcement operations and criminal investigations. The student gains insight into how technology impacts law enforcement, legal issues associated with technological uses, ethical boundaries considerations, and operational and investigative techniques.
Upon successful completion of the Law Enforcement Technology degree program, the student will have a general, but very practical knowledge, of the rapidly evolving technology and how it is used to further public safety operations and criminal investigations. Target occupations typical to this major include in-service officers and investigators working, or seeking to work, specialized technical investigative support assignments.

The Associate of Applied Science (AAS) degree in Law Enforcement Technology offers opportunities for careers in many levels of government and the private sector including:
Federal (CIA, US Secret Service, IRS, Military Police, Border Patrol), State: (State police, highway patrol, fish and wildlife agencies, crime laboratories, narcotics bureaus), Local: (Local police and sheriff’s departments), Corrections:( probation officer, parole officer, prison security officer, juvenile court officer), Private: (plant/industrial security, insurance investigator, retail store security, private security, private investigation)

English Language Requirement

College of the Canyons will accept, for the purposes of meeting the English proficiency requirement, English taken in 12 year education or English is designated as the primary and official language, and the principle language of instruction.
If you do not meet the English language requirements yet, you can achieve the level you need by successfully completing a pre-sessional English programme with the university or submit  

  • English language proficiency at a minimum of IELTS band 6.5 (or equivalent) or PTE Score or Duolingo English Test score before you start your course.
