The engineering transfer interest area at Lane can help prepare you to transfer to a four year institution to work toward a career in engineering. Once enrolled, you’ll work with your advisor to build a degree plan specific to your goals. Focusing on engineering will give you a solid background in mathematics and the physical sciences, while still exposing you to social sciences and liberal arts. You'll start by exploring the various engineering disciplines to get a better idea of what field you want to enter, debating ethical challenges, and using various engineering and mathematical tools. After many classes both designing with computers and building with your hands, you'll make your own invention as a capstone project. With 40 years of proven success in preparing engineering students for upper division classes in several engineering disciplines at universities throughout the country, our program will get you set on the path to a wide variety of well-paying, interesting employment opportunities throughout the world. Engineers typically have great job security and employment rates are much higher than other fields. Some jobs emphasize outdoor field work, such as construction site activity, ocean floor, or aerospace exploration and research.  Other jobs might focus on design of ordinary objects for daily use or on medical technology. Many positions utilize computers for analysis and problem solving. Often, engineers move into responsible management positions or consulting work after several years.

English Language Requirement

Lane Community College will accept, for the purposes of meeting the English proficiency requirement, English taken in 12-year education, or English is designated as the primary and official language and the principle language of instruction. If you do not meet the English language requirements yet, you can achieve the level you need by successfully completing a pre-sessional English programme with the university or submit 

1. English language proficiency at a minimum of IELTS band 6.5 (or equivalent) or PTE Score or Duolingo English Test score before you start your course.
