Welcome to the Associate of Science Degree (Electrical Engineering)

The Electrical Engineering Associates of Science degree program prepares students for transfer to a four-year institution to complete their baccalaureate degree in engineering and opens the door for entry-level internships in engineering. Special emphasis is given to developing skills in critical thinking, communication, teamwork, and entry-level skills in electronics design and embedded systems software development. Apply knowledge of math, science, and engineering to identify, formulate, and solve engineering problems. Collaborate, communicate effectively, and work well in situations that require teamwork and leadership. Design and perform tests or experiments, analyze and interpret data including the use of statistical error analysis, and prepare technical reports summarizing the results of the tests or experiments. Develop an electrical or electronic hardware design or embedded system given a set of requirements, specifications, and constraints. Use techniques, skills, and modern engineering and computer tools necessary for electrical engineering practice including computer aided drafting (CAD) software, circuit simulation software, modern electronics test equipment, circuit prototyping

Career Path

Electrical Engineering graduates work in a variety of specialized fields including analog and digital electronics, electrical power systems, power electronics, electromechanical systems, computer architecture, digital signal processing, software and firmware development, embedded systems, robotics and mechatronics.
