The bachelor of science degree in computer science with
an emphasis in cybersecurity is designed around identified core knowledge areas
of computer science. Students will also study foundational cybersecurity
concepts. The program includes theoretical and practical approaches to prepare
students entering the cybersecurity workforce or to continue their education in
a professional graduate degree program. Upon completion of the program,
students will be able to: Demonstrate mastery of computer science in the
following core knowledge areas: Software development. Algorithms and data
structures. Computer organization, hardware, and architecture. Data and
information management. Describe how technological advances impact social
issues and professional practice. Write and orally communicate technical
material effectively and professionally.
Career Path
Graduates may oversee, operate or protect critical
computer systems, information, infrastructures and communications networks from
cyber crime, cyber fraud or cyber espionage. Career path includes Cybersecurity
Analyst, Cybersecurity Engineer, Penetration Tester, Network Security
Administrator, Incident Response Specialist, Security Consultant, Forensic
Analyst, Cloud Security Engineer, Software Security Developer.
