Welcome to the Associate of Science Degree (Accounting)

The accounting AS degree is designed to give students enough practical experience so that they can secure a position in either the public, governmental or private accounting sector. Design and manage business documents using current technology to engage in creative problem solving. Communicate an understanding of business concepts professionally through written, oral and visual presentations using current technology. Recognize ethical behavior in their chosen profession and behave in a socially responsible manner. Analyze business issues, interpret financial data and identify economic trends. Obtaining an Associate’s degree in Accounting from Cañada College is an excellent start to a prosperous career in the business field. Accounting is considered to be the “language of all business,” and is a valuable skill set for anyone wishing to work in Silicon Valley. Accounting offers an interesting and rewarding career to people who can work with numbers, focus on details, use a computer, and work as part of a team. There is a strong demand for accounting assistants, and you can advance in your career by demonstrating your skills on the job. However, a Bachelor’s degree (any subject) is required to sit for the CPA (Certified Public Accountant) exam. Cañada College’s accounting program offers courses needed to complete the requirements for the Professional Bookkeeper exam in addition to the courses needed for an Associate’s Degree in Accounting, which is the first step to becoming a CPA.

English Language Requirement

Cañada College will accept, for the purposes of meeting the English proficiency requirement, English taken in 12 year education or English is designated as the primary and official language, and the principle language of instruction.

If you do not meet the English language requirements yet, you can achieve the level you need by successfully completing a pre-sessional English programme with the university or submit  

1. English language proficiency at a minimum of IELTS band 6.5 (or equivalent) or PTE Score or Duolingo English Test score before you start your course.
