This graduate program is designed to prepare students for advanced study in exercise physiology and future employment in adult fitness, corporate fitness and cardiac rehabilitation programs. Special attention is also given to knowledge and practical skills necessary for students preparing for American College of Sports Medicine certifications. This graduate program prepares students for advanced study in Exercise Physiology and offers opportunities in research and as clinical exercise physiologists, including roles in cardiac rehabilitation, corporate wellness, and fitness across the lifespan. Students gain the knowledge and practical skills needed for ACSM certifications, including Certified Personal Trainer, Exercise Physiologist, and Clinical Exercise Physiologist. Exercise Science is a unique program that provides smaller classes to allow hands on teaching, utilizing state-of-the-art equipment. This teaching style allowed my professors to get to know me during my time studying and helped me make connections in order to reach my specific professional goals. As a student of the MS in Exercise Physiology program at St. Scholastica, you’ll prepare for key health, fitness, athletics, rehabilitation, and research positions through classroom instruction and laboratory experiences. You’ll also have opportunities to work with real clients in various settings prior to internships. Upon completion, you’ll emerge from the MS in Exercise Physiology program well-prepared to start work right away in a variety of areas, including general fitness, cardiac rehabilitation, strength and conditioning, corporate wellness and other fields. Some students will use this additional knowledge and hands-on experience to successfully transition into postgraduate work.
