The Doctor of Management (DM) is a professional doctorate
degree. However, instead of a focus on business administration and quantitative
subject areas, the focus of the DM is on management. This course provides for advanced research study in the
field of Management. It aims to provide aspiring managers and business
specialists with key insights in to research theory and practice within the
management discipline. Specifically, the objectives of this course are: To
develop advanced research training and leading edge research practice and
management theory at a professional and academic level. To provide an
interdisciplinary context to research, gaining support from a variety of
technical, academic and disciplinary contexts. The
program creates an opportunity for the student to demonstrate application of
the knowledge and skills gained in the course work portion of the program and
to demonstrate the critical thinking and analytical skills required to
successfully complete the Doctoral Project.
Career Path
This
programme is based on the rationale that candidates will normally be in employment
whilst they are undertaking it. In terms of employability, therefore, the aim
of this course is twofold. First, to support career progression within the
organisation and/or industry. Second, to support candidates who wish to embark
on a portfolio career.
