Bachelor of Arts Management Information Systems

Management Information Systems is a field of study that focuses on the integration of information technology solutions and business processes to meet the information needs of an organization. Organizations use information technology solutions to improve existing business processes or to create new business models. Organizations also rely on their information systems to collect, process, and distribute information to support decision making. Information systems are crucial for acquisition, storage, dissemination and management of information, which is one of the most important assets of an organization. In today’s technology-driven business environment, all organizations in virtually all industries depend on the capability of their information systems to compete, survive and grow. Organizations need individuals who can understand their unique needs and use technology solutions to solve their business problems. The analysis, design, development, implementation and maintenance of information systems require a combination of strong technical and business knowledge.
