Master of Science Computer Science

The Master of Science in Computer Science is a broad-based degree offering students strong problem-solving, communication, and team skills to design, implement, and document computer software systems. MTSU's Computer Science Master's program sends well-prepared students into a lucrative job market. Employers ranging from tech titans such as Google, Microsoft, Meta, to big companies like HCA, Schneider Electric, Deloitte, and Caterpillar, value MTSU graduates. Employment in the field is projected to grow at a rate of 25% percent between 2021 and 2031 with a median annual pay of $109,020 at 2021 based on the report from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics. Students, who choose from the thesis and non-thesis options, are able to concentrate on specific areas or begin preparation for Ph.D. work. Master's students also gain experience working with systems administration and helping create apps for the university. Well-equipped computer labs are available for extended hours and also provide 24/7 remote software access. Video conference attendance is possible in some classes. A limited number of graduate assistantships are available.

English Language Requirement

Middle Tennessee State University will accept, for the purposes of meeting the English proficiency requirement, English taken in 12-year education, or English is designated as the primary and official language and the principle language of instruction. If you do not meet the English language requirements yet, you can achieve the level you need by successfully completing a pre-sessional English programme with the university or submit  

1. English language proficiency at a minimum of IELTS band 6.5 (or equivalent) or PTE Score or Duolingo English Test score before you start your course.
