The Associate in Science in Film,
TV, and Electronic Media for Transfer (AS-T) will prepare students for transfer
into bachelor's degree programs in broadcast, film, TV, and similar majors. The
Associate of Science for Transfer (AS-T) is intended for students who plan to
complete a bachelor's degree in a similar major at a California State University campus. Students
completing these degrees (AA-T or AS-T) are guaranteed admission to the California State University system, but not to a particular campus or major. Students demonstrate knowledge of the
historical, cultural, and economic influences on the content of motion pictures
and television, both narrative and non-narrative (documentary) filmmaking and
non-scripted (“reality”) television programs. Students demonstrate knowledge
and command of the processes of writing, direction, production, post
production, and distribution of cinema (single–camera) and television
(multi-camera) productions.
Career Path
Career opportunities include TV
and video producing, directing, camera operation, video editing,
script-writing, audio recording and mixing, and radio programming.
