Welcome to the Associate Degree Physics

The COC Physics Departments offers a full range of lower-division undergraduate physics courses, from PHYSIC 101 for the student who wants to take physics for general education all the way up to the calculus-based PHYSIC 222 for future scientists, engineers, and physicists. The department has acquired brand new equipment for students to have an active hands-on learning experience. Our students are engaged in small class sizes using an inquiry-based active learning style, in an effort to best prepare students for transfer and their future careers. Completing the recommended course pattern for the AS-T (Associates in Science-Transfer) degree in physics provides the basis for careers in applied science and in interdisciplinary areas such as astronomy, astrophysics, biophysics, engineering, environmental science, and scientific instrumentation just to mention a few.
