About

The Elementary Education program at the University of Kentucky prepares students to become elementary teachers. Earning a degree from our program gives you the skillset to become an effective teacher with extensive hands-on experience.  This can also open doors for your continued education and/or career advancement opportunities in school leadership, educational psychology, curriculum design, state policy, publishing, higher education, and corporate training.  Our unique approach embeds courses in local schools early in the program, ensuring you gain valuable field experience and forge important connections. Students gain over 200 hours of field experience through classroom observations, community outreach, school board meetings, and other school visits, followed by a full semester of student teaching. Bachelor of Education in Elementary Education can give you the tools to help children succeed in their educational journey. This degree can prepare you to apply best practices and theories that can help your students grow and thrive.

English Language Requirement

Concordia University Chicago will accept, for the purposes of meeting the English proficiency requirement, English taken in 12-year education, or English is designated as the primary and official language and the principle language of instruction. If you do not meet the English language requirements yet, you can achieve the level you need by successfully completing a pre-sessional English programme with the university or submit 

1. English language proficiency at a minimum of IELTS band 6.5 (or equivalent) or PTE Score or Duolingo English Test score before you start your course.
