Welcome to the Associate Degree Computer Science (Transfer 2+2)

Associate Degree Philosophy (Transfer 2+2) is intended for students who plan to complete a bachelor's degree in a similar major at a California State University after their progra and admission is guaranteed. 
Computer science is an exciting program dealing with the problems in organizing, representing, manipulating and presenting information in an automatic processing environment. Computerized information systems are being developed and used in almost every field. The goal of the computer science program is to provide an understanding of the functions of the modern computer and operational skills in program development. There is an increasing demand for software engineers as anything that plugs into a wall outlet or runs on a battery has a microcontroller or microprocessor at its core and therefore an embedded program running.
 Students within the Associate of Science (Computer Science) Degree transfer program will gain knowledge in programming, data structures, and computer architecture, and will develop their critical thinking and analytical skills. Students will also complete mathematics and lab science courses to further their numerical and lab skills.

Admission Requirements

English Language Requirement

College of the Canyons will accept, for the purposes of meeting the English proficiency requirement, English taken in 12 year education or English is designated as the primary and official language, and the principle language of instruction.
If you do not meet the English language requirements yet, you can achieve the level you need by successfully completing a pre-sessional English programme with the university or submit  

  • English language proficiency at a minimum of IELTS band 6.5 (or equivalent) or PTE Score or Duolingo English Test score before you start your course.
