Welcome to the Associate Degree Public Health (Transfer 2+2)

Public Health Associate Degree will prepare you for a variety of entry-level public health positions in the community. You will also be able to transfer credits toward a bachelor’s degree in health education, health administration, environmental health, or a related field. With this program you will: Learn about healthy lifestyles, population perspectives, public health issues, systems, programs, outreach, and education. Benefit from real-world experience by participating in a practicum (internship). Improve your career options by earning a degree in Public Health.
Successfully distinguish an understanding of interventions that address public health issues including the structure and function of the organizational setting and public health policies. Collaborate as part of a team to explore a selected public health issue. This may include coursework and or interdisciplinary /integrative feedback. Classify public health systems as they pertain to organization, funding and delivery of service. Integrate student practices to comply with the Massachusetts Code of Ethics for Community Health Workers.

English Language Requirement

College of the Canyons will accept, for the purposes of meeting the English proficiency requirement, English taken in 12 year education or English is designated as the primary and official language, and the principle language of instruction.
If you do not meet the English language requirements yet, you can achieve the level you need by successfully completing a pre-sessional English programme with the university or submit  

  • English language proficiency at a minimum of IELTS band 6.5 (or equivalent) or PTE Score or Duolingo English Test score before you start your course.
