Welcome to the Associate of Science Degree (Mathematics) - Transfer

An Associate in Science in Mathematics for Transfer (AS-T) from Skyline College is intended for students who are interested in transferring to a California State University (CSU) campus with a major in Mathematics, or similar major. This program teaches students to appropriately choose and correctly apply various mathematical concepts and techniques; use the multiple representations of graphs, tables, symbols, and words to communicate effectively; and create mathematical models or hypothesis tests for real-world datasets and evaluate their implications for society. Analyze multiple representations of quantitative information, including graphical, formulaic, numerical and verbal. Demonstrate problem-solving skills. Interpret the meaning of numerical answers. Use methods of logic to support a claim using data, formulas and mathematical reasoning.

Career path

Completion of this degree opens doors to a variety of careers in fields such as mathematical instruction and research, technology, engineering, finance, and quantitative sciences. Students with a degree in mathematics may pursue careers in a variety of industries such as education, finance, insurance, information technology, engineering and operations, manufacturing, consulting, analysis, research, and more.

English Language Requirement

Skyline College will accept, for the purposes of meeting the English proficiency requirement, English taken in 12 year education or English is designated as the primary and official language, and the principle language of instruction.

If you do not meet the English language requirements yet, you can achieve the level you need by successfully completing a pre-sessional English programme with the university or submit  

1. English language proficiency at a minimum of IELTS band 6.5 (or equivalent) or PTE Score or Duolingo English Test score before you start your course.
