This is extremely useful for students pursuing careers in teaching or in the actuarial profession. Because the BA in Mathematics degree offers more free electives, students who are interested in another field of study are able to pursue a second major. A BS in Mathematics provides broad knowledge of mathematics topics with depth in certain areas, while a BSc. in Mathematics provides a solid mathematics core within a flexible curriculum. The BSc.
