Bachelor of Science Political Science - Pre-Law

The Political Science Pre-Law concentration explores the political process as well as the American legal system. Cultivate skills in analytical thinking, research, writing, and communication while earning a Bachelor of Arts or a Bachelor of Science degree. Pre-Law majors and minors benefit from the counsel of knowledgeable faculty who help them prepare for the challenges of law school and law-related fields of employment. MTSU's proximity to the state capital provides unique opportunities for hands-on training and career placement, including paid internships with law firms and with Tennessee's Legislature. Our program has a proven history of preparing students for law school and careers in public policy through a curriculum that enriches students' understanding of not just the law, but also policymaking, politics, and social change. Political Science Pre-Law students experience classroom learning as well as hands-on opportunities through internships, clubs, and intercollegiate academic teams. Department-supported organizations include Mock Trial, Mediation, and the Legal Studies Society. The department also offers free LSAT preparation workshops for students and sponsors speakers on political and legal topics.

English Language Requirement

Middle Tennessee State University will accept, for the purposes of meeting the English proficiency requirement, English taken in 12-year education, or English is designated as the primary and official language and the principle language of instruction. If you do not meet the English language requirements yet, you can achieve the level you need by successfully completing a pre-sessional English programme with the university or submit  

1. English language proficiency at a minimum of IELTS band 6.5 (or equivalent) or PTE Score or Duolingo English Test score before you start your course.
