Welcome to the BSc. Biology - Organismal, Ecology, and Evolutionary Biology

An organismal, ecological, and evolutionary biology option is for the student who is preparing to do graduate work with an interest in field biology, botany, zoology or ecology. It’s designed for students fascinated with the diversity of living things. The curriculum includes rigorous coursework in evolutionary biology, ecology, plant biology, and animal biology. Core courses will prepare you for any area of biology. Select courses in physics, organic chemistry, geology, and calculus. Gain hands-on experience at the Miller Reserve Wetlands Restoration Project, the Kelso Wildlife Sanctuary, and the Reis Biological Research Station. Engage with faculty advisors who are both active in research programs and readily involve students in their research programs.

Career Path

 Others use the skills gained on their course to enter widely different career paths in law, business or management. Whatever you choose to do after graduation, your Biosciences degree will stand you in good stead, with excellent employment prospects and transferable skills. English Language Requirement

Southeast Missouri State University will accept, for the purposes of meeting the English proficiency requirement, English taken in 12 year education or English is designated as the primary and official language, and the principle language of instruction.

If you do not meet the English language requirements yet, you can achieve the level you need by successfully completing a pre-sessional English programme with the university or submit  

  • English language proficiency at a minimum of IELTS band 6.5 (or equivalent) or PTE Score or Duolingo English Test score before you start your course.
