Welcome to the BA (Hons) Fine Art

What exactly distinguishes fine artists? Usually, independent work without a client. Their work may stand out for its beauty or meaningfulness thanks to innovative practice or a high level of craft or conceptual skills. Experimentation and risk-taking are an essential part of their individualism, too. This fine art degree will help you specialise in making contemporary art. This interdisciplinary course leads to career paths in the cultural and creative industries.  Our fine art students work across a range of disciplines including: Drawing, Painting, Sculpture,Installation, Video, Photography, Printmaking and film.

Career Path

Many of our graduates combine careers as artists with work in education, museums and galleries and art therapy. Others use their knowledge and skills to launch careers in fields including journalism, broadcasting, marketing, technology, business or design.  Our graduates have gone on to postgraduate study including fine art, curating and museum studies, arts marketing, art and business, art and design .

English Language Requirement

Southeast Missouri State University will accept, for the purposes of meeting the English proficiency requirement, English taken in 12 year education or English is designated as the primary and official language, and the principle language of instruction.

If you do not meet the English language requirements yet, you can achieve the level you need by successfully completing a pre-sessional English programme with the university or submit  

  • English language proficiency at a minimum of IELTS band 6.5 (or equivalent) or PTE Score or Duolingo English Test score before you start your course.
