About

A Bachelor of Art’s in Music is perfect for students who are passionate about performance, composition, and the study of music theory, offering a pathway to careers as musicians, composers, music educators, or sound engineers. This program provides the technical and creative skills needed to pursue roles in music performance, music production, education, or music therapy, as well as opportunities in the growing fields of digital media and music technology. The Bachelor of Art’s in Music program provides students with a comprehensive education in music performance, theory, history, and musicianship. Students engage in applied study on their primary instrument or voice, participate in ensembles, and explore a range of musical styles and traditions. The curriculum emphasizes both artistic development and academic rigor, helping students refine their technical skills, deepen their understanding of music as a discipline, and prepare for advanced study or professional performance. The Bachelor of Arts in Music program of study is designed to offer students a broad-based liberal arts degree in music.  The Core coursework includes classes in music theory and musicianship, music history, keyboard skills, applied lessons, and participation in major ensembles. The Bachelor of Arts program is intended as a cultural course or as a preparation for graduate study but not as preparation for a performance or teaching career. Delivered in one of the musical capitals of the world, this highly personalised degree leads to advanced work in three areas: historical and cultural studies of music, performance from a range of traditions, and composition.
