The Business Administration program is designed for students who do not necessarily want to specialize in one or two specific areas of business. It provides students with a broad foundation in business and the flexibility to choose courses that relate to their particular areas of interests within the field of business. Students complete the CBA core curriculum and 27 credits chosen from the following areas: accounting, entrepreneurship, finance, information systems, international business, management, sales management, marketing. Due to the general nature of this degree program, it prepares you to hold a wide variety of positions within a business enterprise. If you intend to pursue a career in small business management, whether by creating or acquiring a small business, or taking over a family enterprise, the general business degree will provide you with the broad knowledge and skills needed to manage your business. The degree will also prepare you for further graduate study or certification in a specialized business field. Our close ties to regional businesses provide many benefits for our students. Business executives share their expertise as mentors and guest lecturers in classes, and provide valuable advice on program and course content, helping to keep our curricula fresh, relevant and rigorous. You will work in teams on real-world business cases, applying your classroom knowledge to help solve problems faced by local businesses. Additionally, you will have the opportunity to gain practical, professional experience through the University's cooperative education and internship programs.
