The Ph.D. in Artificial Intelligence Convergence prepares students to lead the next wave of AI Transformation (AX) by focusing on advanced, practical, industry ready solutions that extend beyond traditional theory driven AI programs. Designed for multidisciplinary “Convergent Talents,” the program equips graduates to integrate artificial intelligence into specialized research and industrial application fields such as business, finance, healthcare, bioinformatics, logistics, transportation, media, creative industries, smart cities, smart manufacturing, and industrial automation while also addressing emerging areas like sustainability, cybersecurity, education, and digital governance. Through rigorous capstone and venture projects, students engage in solving complex, real world problems while advancing original research that bridges theory and practice. The program emphasizes both technical depth and strategic leadership, preparing graduates to design innovative AI systems, influence policy, and drive global transformation.

Student can work up to 25 hours per week and full time during official school breaks. South Korea does not offer an automatic post-study work visa, but graduates can transition to the D-10 Job Seeker Visa to stay and look for a job up to 2 to 3 years.

Woosong University will accept, for the purposes of meeting the English proficiency requirement, evidence of English study within a 12‑year education system where English is designated as the primary and official language and the principal language of instruction. For applicants who do not yet meet the English language requirement, there are two pathways to achieve the necessary level:
Pre‑sessional English Programme; Students may successfully complete a preparatory English programme offered by the university before beginning their academic course. Recognized English Proficiency Tests; Students may submit one of the following minimum scores prior to the start of their program: IELTS: 6.5 overall band score (or equivalent), TOEFL or PTE: Score of 60, Duolingo English Test: Score of 120.
