Philosophy is the study of
questions that arise from our reflection on ourselves and our place in the
natural world. It is also a practice that teaches self-reflection and
critical inquiry. The philosophy department at KPU offers a full range of
courses taught by experienced philosophers with backgrounds
from universities across Canada and around the world. Philosophy
is typically done in a setting with others. Doing philosophy with others allows
you to sort beliefs, rank values, articulate what is essential and eliminate
nonsense. Students enjoy the benefit of small classes, with instructors and an
institution committed to teaching. Is
there a god? Are our minds separate from our bodies? How much can we ever
really know? On this 4-year BA Philosophy degree, you'll grapple with some of
the most profound questions. You'll also develop critical thinking and analysis
skills that will be essential in your future career.
Career Path
Our Philosophy graduates have
secured roles as diverse as: publishing, journalism, IT, human resources (HR)
coordinator, investment analyst, digital marketing coordinator, tax consultant,
data analyst, project manager, teacher.
