The Computer Aided Design & Drafting (CADD) Program provides students with the essential skills and knowledge to excel in computer-aided design and drafting careers. Students engage in hands-on projects, creating both digital and physical models while mastering industry-standard software such as AutoCAD and Building Information Modeling (BIM) tools. Co-operative Education: Gain practical, paid work experience with the Co-operative Education option. Students can complete one full-time, 4-month work term during their diploma program, alternating academic study with real-world application. Computer lab access will be available on the Cloverdale campus for all CADD classes. For students wishing to use their own computers, the requirements below are needed to remotely access CADD software and to access the online Learning Management SystemSee additional computer requirements needed for downloading required softwareArchitectural CADD/Drafting graduates create 3D models and 2D drawings for residential, commercial and government buildings. They may pursue an entry level position in a variety of employment situations such as an Architectural design office, a manufacturing company of prefabricated buildings or trusses, a construction company, a kitchen/cabinet design company, a municipal office, or a company that specializes in single and multi-family residential plans. Normally offered in the Fall semester, students prepare sets of drawings to graphically convey design and dimensional information to meet the qualifications for a building permit in residential, commercial and institutional applications.

English Language Requirement

Kwantlen Polytechnic University  will accept, for the purposes of meeting the English proficiency requirement, English taken in 12-year education, or English is designated as the primary and official language and the principle language of instruction. If you do not meet the English language requirements yet, you can achieve the level you need by successfully completing a pre-sessional English programme with the university or submit 

1. English language proficiency at a minimum of IELTS band 6.5 (or equivalent) or PTE Score or Duolingo English Test score before you start your course.
