Bachelor of Science Health Sciences

This BSc Health Science Degree adopts an interdisciplinary approach to the study of health, illness and disease. Students will be introduced to the many interlinked factors that contribute to the health status of individuals and populations.This area of study provides a degree for students who are seeking a career in the medical field. Students will be prepared for admittance into a graduate-level health education program.  The curriculum is designed to satisfy the pre-requisite courses for professional programs such as Athletic Training, Occupational Therapy, and Physical Therapy. Be prepared to enter numerous health fields and satisfy most pre-requisites for professional graduate programs. Participate in faculty-led research and present data findings at professional conferences.  The BSHS degree provides students a pathway to pursue various healthcare careers such as health education, public health, chiropractic, acupuncture, ayurvedic sciences, nutrition, physician assistant, human genomics, genetic counseling, physical therapy, occupational therapy, dentistry, or epidemiology. Students learn the values and interpersonal skills needed to succeed in today’s health settings through a deep exploration of biomedical sciences, integrative health, health education, and human genomics.

Career Path

Graduates in our Health Science courses will have the knowledge, skills and competency to work in diverse roles such as working for the National Health Service, Public Health and Public Health, health promotion, health journalism, the pharmaceutical sector, and education. Many graduates are likely to progress onto higher research degrees such as a Masters degree or further specialist degrees such as a Postgraduate Certificate in Education.
