The University of Akron Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) program offers a career pathway to meet the needs of registered nurses (RNs) who are interested in obtaining a baccalaureate degree in nursing. The curriculum is designed for RNs who completed either an associate or diploma nursing program as well as RNs with a baccalaureate degree in an area other than nursing. The program is designed for the adult registered nurse learner. Learning builds upon prior knowledge and experience. The BSN program is approved by the Ohio Board of Nursing and is fully accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE). The Bachelor of Science in Nursing (RN to BSN) is designed for registered nurses seeking to advance their qualifications. This program builds on prior nursing education and experience, offering a pathway to a bachelor’s degree through a combination of coursework and hands-on training. Students can expect a comprehensive curriculum that includes advanced nursing topics and critical thinking skills. The program also offers a pathway for continuing on to a master’s degree in nursing. You can take up to three graduate courses for a total of eight credits toward your Master of Science in Nursing (MSN). (Continuation in the graduate program is predicated on meeting graduate-program requirements and acceptance into the graduate nursing program.

The University of Akron will accept, for the purposes of meeting the English proficiency requirement, English taken in 12-year education, or English is designated as the primary and official language and the principle language of instruction. If you do not meet the English language requirements yet, you can achieve the level you need by successfully completing a pre-sessional English programme with the university or submit
