Welcome to the Associate of Science Degree - Radiologic Technology

The program provides radiologic information including medical terminology, patient care, radiographic procedures, radiation protection, equipment operations and image production and evaluation. The Radiologic Technology program offers a comprehensive curriculum leading to an AS degree and qualifications for employment in medical facilities throughout the country. Students participate in classroom instruction and clinical education in our affiliated hospitals. Program graduates must take the licensure examination required by the State of California and the certification examination given by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists. Select and manipulate appropriate technical factors for examinations, both routine and non-routine. Apply correct positioning skills. Pass the ARRT national certification on the first attempt. Use effective written and oral communication skills with clinical staff and patients.

Career Path

Radiologic technologists perform diagnostic imaging procedures under the supervision of a radiologist. They support the healthcare team and can work in a variety of roles, including: Sonographer, X-ray technician, Nuclear medicine technologist.

English Language Requirement

Cañada College will accept, for the purposes of meeting the English proficiency requirement, English taken in 12 year education or English is designated as the primary and official language, and the principle language of instruction. If you do not meet the English language requirements yet, you can achieve the level you need by successfully completing a pre-sessional English programme with the university or submit  

1. English language proficiency at a minimum of IELTS band 6.5 (or equivalent) or PTE Score or Duolingo English Test score before you start your course.
