Welcome to the Associate of Arts Degree (Commercial Photography)

Do you have an interest in advertising and photography? Enter the fun, creative and rewarding world of commercial photography through the Commercial Photography concentration of our Photographic Technology program. You'll study advertising photography and product illustration; studio and location camera techniques and lighting; model, food, and architectural photography; layout specifications and art direction; corporate and stock photography; digital imaging applications; and current commercial business practices.
Business practices, tools, techniques, and applications are all explored via demonstrations, assignments, and on-the-job internships. When you graduate, you will be thoroughly prepared to successfully perform the duties required for numerous positions within the commercial
Career Option
Provides students with a foundation of knowledge and technical abilities to gain an entry-level position in a career related to commercial photography, such as a commercial photographer, digital imaging technician, event photographer, commercial assistant photographer, photography laboratory technician, photographic restoration specialist, wedding photographer, portrait photographer, or advertising photographer.

English Language Requirement

College of the Canyons will accept, for the purposes of meeting the English proficiency requirement, English taken in 12 year education or English is designated as the primary and official language, and the principle language of instruction.
If you do not meet the English language requirements yet, you can achieve the level you need by successfully completing a pre-sessional English programme with the university or submit  

  • English language proficiency at a minimum of IELTS band 6.5 (or equivalent) or PTE Score or Duolingo English Test score before you start your course.
