Welcome to the Associate of Science Degree (Engineering)

The Associate of Science in General Engineering is a four-semester program that provides a solid, engineering-relevant foundation in the physical sciences and mathematics, and basic knowledge in the major areas of engineering. Required courses also include course and lab work in electrical circuits, building construction, computer engineering, materials, mechanics and other fields. Electives enable students to begin concentrating in a particular field-- electrical, civil, mechanical, chemical, and computer engineering—in preparation for continued studies or the workplace.

The Engineering program provides curriculum concerned with the fundamentals of mechanics, electrical theory, and materials that can be applied to all disciplines within engineering. The degree concentrates on helping students develop critical thinking skills, a creative imagination, and excellent communication skills to effectively function in the professional environment.

Career Path

Career options include: mechanical engineer, civil engineer, computer engineer, aerospace engineer, biomedical engineer, automotive engineer, and manufacturing engineer.

Eligibility

English Language Requirement

College of the Canyons will accept, for the purposes of meeting the English proficiency requirement, English taken in 12 year education or English is designated as the primary and official language, and the principle language of instruction.

If you do not meet the English language requirements yet, you can achieve the level you need by successfully completing a pre-sessional English programme with the university or submit  

  • English language proficiency at a minimum of IELTS band 6.5 (or equivalent) or PTE Score or Duolingo English Test score before you start your course.
