Recent graduates with a master of science degree from the Department of Biology at Southeast can expect a lucrative career teaching (grade-school, high school, or university level), maintaining natural resources through employment at state/federal conservation agencies, continue education through a Ph.D. program, or use their knowledge of the sciences in the private sector.
This degree prepares you for a career as a speech-language pathologist, with an emphasis on obtaining licensure in Missouri and a Certification of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language-Pathology from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA).
Career Path
Speech-language pathologists are in high demand. Employment rates are extremely high across all settings, including: all school levels, including elementary, middle and high school early intervention settings, including home health, inpatient and acute care hospitals, neonatal intensive care units, outpatient rehabilitation, pediatric outpatient centers, private practice.
